Actor Jerry Ying has two passions in life: the film community and his family. Constantly on-the-go and frequently away from home, he relies on networking technology and video conferencing to keep connected to his 3-year old daughter, Chayse.

I liked the juxtaposition of the daughter at school and the Dad at work on the set - that worked well. I also liked where the interview was shot, how he was dark and the LA background was light. It was a nice portrayal of the city and the actor. Well done!

what an inspiring family! i love that he is taking such an active role with his kid and keeping up with technology as it evolves. it reminds me how far we've come from my first introduction to technology - the atari 2600. great short!

This is very moving. I'm an actor with a 2 year old son. I love the way you are using tech to make things work. And, the joy your family has is lovely.

So quickly kids surpass their parents when it comes to technology. I love that this dad is being proactive-- anticipating the role of tech in his daughter's life and trying to keep up.

It is very refreshing to see the struggles of a working dad portrayed with such sensitivity and sympathy. Too often, dads are the "huddled masses yearning to breathe free," and they suffer in silence. If more and more dads speak up, it will pave the way for better work/family balance supports for both moms and dads. (FYI, I work for the National Fatherhood Initiative). Way to go, Janice!
