"Lisa Yui is a classical pianist and teaches at the Manhattan School of Music and the Julliard School. Through a relationship with Yamaha Artist Services, she has been collaborating with other teachers from all over the world using the Yamaha Disklavier, an Internet-enabled acoustic grand piano that connects to other Disklaviers. The technology enables a performance to be played in one location and heard in another with almost no discernible difference. Lisa, who resides in New York, demonstrates it's functionality in a remote lesson with a student in Rhode Island."

I loved this -- absolutely fascinating to discover yet another way that technology can bring us together.

I have heard of this type of technology before. Not only does it bring the world closer but even thoses who are unable to attend a local perfromance can enjoy the performance from their own living room. It is also a great teaching tool.

Excellent production value - cinematography, sound, lighting, etc. Message a bit choppy - many times ideas quickly jumped to another without a smooth transition. No introduction so I didn't know what this video is all about. Other than that the story is very interesting.

Technology ceases to amaze. I can see it now - Elton John charging $150 to play on your piano in your living room using this program.

Your documentary taught me that the Yamaha Disklavier is a great instrument to teach music. For example, an outstanding teacher in New York can communicate with underprivileged students in remote places in the world. It woudl have been nicer if the documentary commented on whether there is any difference between learning classical piano teachinques with a traditional grand piano and with a Yamaha Disklavier. And how much popular is a Disklavier? Is it a pilot project or commercially available?

I don't see how the technology is used to advance teaching methods. How do you effectively teach the physical techniques that determine the sound and musical qualities particular to the instrument and musician simply by talking? There is so much more to music than just the mechanics of the theoretics. I thought the playing itself was nice, but the only useful application of the technology that I see would be the musical sharing among peers.
